Our approach

How a matter unfolds.

No mystery and no surprises. Here is the path almost every client follows with us, and roughly how long each stage takes.

  1. A free first conversation

Twenty minutes by phone or video to hear the full picture and tell you honestly whether and how we can help.

    Day 0
  2. A fixed-fee proposal

You receive a written scope, a price and a timeline. If anything changes, we agree it with you before we do the work.

    Day 1
  3. Preparation and strategy

We gather the documents, test the options and set out the likely outcomes in plain English, so every decision is yours.

    Week 1
  4. Action on your behalf

We draft, negotiate, file and chase. You get a progress update at each milestone, without having to ask for one.

    Weeks 2 to 6
  5. Resolution and aftercare

We confirm the outcome, tidy every loose end and remain on hand for the questions that tend to come up afterwards.

The team

People you can speak to.

A small firm by design. You will deal with the same solicitor throughout, and you will have their direct line.

Leads our property and commercial work, with a particular fondness for tidy contracts and quiet completions.

Marcus Rowe

Partner

Heads disputes and employment, and is happiest settling a matter early, while ready to go the distance.

Priya Anand

Associate, family

Guides clients through separation with patience and a talent for turning a tense conversation into a workable plan.

Tom Ashworth

Associate, wills and probate

Explains wills, trusts and estates without jargon, and keeps families informed at every stage.

Sample profiles for a fictional firm.

Transparent fees

Know the price before we begin.

Most of our work is offered at a fixed fee, set out in writing at the start. Where a matter cannot be fixed, we give you a clear estimate and tell you when it moves.

Questions

Things people ask first.

Cannot see your question? Call us or send a message and we will answer it personally.

How much will it cost?

We give you a written fixed fee before any work begins wherever the work allows it. If a matter cannot be fixed, you receive a clear estimate and we tell you promptly if it needs to change.

Is the first conversation really free?

Yes. We offer 20 minutes by phone or video at no cost and with no obligation, so you can explain your situation and hear honestly how we would approach it.

How quickly will you reply?

We aim to respond to every enquiry within one working day, and often much sooner. Urgent matters are flagged when you get in touch and picked up the same day.

Can you help if I live elsewhere?

Most of our work is done by phone, video and secure online documents, so we regularly act for clients across the country. Where a meeting in person helps, we will arrange one.

Will I deal with one solicitor?

Yes. You are assigned a named solicitor who runs your matter from start to finish, supported by a colleague who knows the file if they are ever away.

What if my matter ends up in court?

We always look for a sensible agreement first. If that is not possible, we will explain the likely costs and risks of proceedings, and only go ahead on your instructions.
