The workshop

Family-run since 1998

Six technicians, four ramps and one rule that has never changed: no work without your approval.

Every job is photographed and videoed on the ramp, so the quote you approve is the invoice you pay. Old parts come back in the box if you want them, and every repair is stamped in your service book to keep your manufacturer warranty intact.

Petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric — our techs are EV-trained and kitted out for it, from insulated tooling to battery health checks.

Prices

The price we say is the price you pay

Every job is agreed in writing before a single bolt is touched. If we find something else, you get a video, a line-by-line quote and the choice to say no.

No surprises, ever. If the job comes in under the quote, you pay the lower number. That has been the rule since 1998.

The Brockley promise:

1. You approve every penny before it is spent.
2. Old parts back in the box, handed to you.
3. Work stamped in your service book, warranty protected.

Why people leave the main dealer

Same schedule, same OEM-equivalent parts, technicians who have done your model a hundred times — typically 30–40% less than franchise labour rates. Under Block Exemption rules, servicing with us does not affect your manufacturer warranty.

The 30-point check, on the house

Every MOT, service and repair includes a 30-point health check — tyres, brakes, battery, fluids, lights, suspension, the lot. You get the sheet with a video walk-round of anything we flag, priced line by line.

Watch it fill in. This is the exact sheet a customer gets, by text, before we have picked up a spanner on the extras.

Dan K · full service + brakes
"Main dealer wanted £640 for the brakes. Brockley did the same parts, next day, £310 — and collected the car from my office."

Questions

Straight answers

Anything else, ring the workshop on 01632 960 458 — you will get a technician, not a script.

How long does an MOT take?

About 45 minutes. Leave the car with us for the day or wait in reception with a coffee and the paper. If it fails on something small like a bulb or a wiper, we usually fix it there and then and retest free within 10 working days.

Will you contact me before doing any work?

Always. You get a video of anything we find, a line-by-line quote on the same text thread, and nothing is touched until you reply to approve it. If a job comes in under the quote, you pay the lower number.

Can I supply my own parts?

Yes, plenty of customers do. We will check the part is correct for your car before fitting it, and we will tell you straight if it is not. Our 12-month guarantee covers our labour and the fitting, but not parts you have supplied yourself.

How can I pay?

Card (including contactless and Apple/Google Pay), bank transfer or cash — after the work is done and you have seen the video findings and the itemised invoice. There is no deposit to book a slot.

How soon can you fit me in?

MOTs, servicing and diagnostics are usually same-day or next-day. Bigger jobs like a clutch or cambelt are typically two to three days out, because we order parts to your registration first. A courtesy car is free with a full service if you need to keep moving.

Do you do air-con?

Yes — a full regas with a leak check before we start, using the correct gas for your car: £79 for R134a or £119 for the newer R1234yf. If the system has a leak that needs repair, you get a quote before we touch anything beyond the check.

Do you work on vans and pickups?

Yes. We are a Class 4 and Class 7 MOT station, so we test cars and light commercial vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes, and our technicians service vans, pickups and campervans every day. Local businesses can open a fleet account with priority slots and monthly invoicing.

Do you work on EVs and hybrids?

Yes — we have EV-trained technicians, proper insulated tooling and battery health checks. MOTs, servicing, diagnostics, brakes and tyres are all covered; HV battery pack work is referred to a certified partner and we handle the logistics.

Will servicing with you void my manufacturer warranty?

No. Under UK Block Exemption rules, your warranty stays intact as long as servicing follows the manufacturer schedule using OEM-equivalent parts — which is exactly what we do, stamped in your service book.

Can you collect my car?

Free collection and delivery within 5 miles of the workshop, and a courtesy car at no charge with a full service. Just choose "collect" when you book.
